Sandra Kowalik is the founder of LANS Pronunciation and the creator of the LANS Method (Like A Native Speaker), a proven system for improving English pronunciation quickly and effectively.

With over 20 years of experience, Sandra has helped over a thousand students from around the world—including professionals, students, and executives—develop clear, confident English speech.

Before specializing in pronunciation training, Sandra worked as a radio broadcaster in Toronto and in television production with CTV and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Her background in professional communication gives her a unique understanding of how clear speech impacts real-world success.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson University and is TESL certified.

The LANS Method

The LANS Method was developed after years of identifying common pronunciation challenges among non-native English speakers.

It is designed to be:

The Story Behind LANS

Over 20 years ago, Sandra transitioned from a career in broadcasting to focus on helping non-native English speakers overcome pronunciation challenges.

While teaching students from Japan, Korea, Russia, Taiwan, China and other countries, she began to recognize consistent patterns in pronunciation difficulties.

After working with more than 1,000 students, she developed a system that directly targets their English pronunciation weak points—leading to faster, more noticeable improvement.

This system became the LANS Method.

Continuous Improvement

Inspired by the Japanese concept of Kaizen (continuous improvement), Sandra continues to refine the LANS Method through teaching, feedback, and innovation.
